Advisories have been issued for parts of the area

Update 6:18pm: The National Weather Service has upped snow totals for parts of the area. North Western Saratoga County could see as much as 9 inches. About 2 inches expected in the Albany area.

Some parts of the Capital Region could see as much as 6 inches of snow Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. A winter weather advisory has been issued for Fulton, Montgomery, Eastern Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schoharie, Warren and Washington counties from 1pm Wednesday to 1pm Thursday.

The National Weather Service says the Albany area will likely see a coating to two inches. Most of the heavier snow will is expected to fall in the higher terrains. However there is the possibility of strong winds which could make driving conditions difficult due to blowing and drifting snow.

Of course, this storm pales in comparison to the whopper of the storm over the weekend that hit Western New York and the North Country - bringing over 5 feet of snow to some areas.

Bring on the winter wonderland!
