Here's the latest on the next burst of bad weather heading our way

Update 4:11pm: The National Weather Service predicts wind gusts could reach near 60 mph in the Capital Region Sunday night into Monday.

The Capital Region and surrounding areas should prepare for high winds and potential power outages Sunday evening. The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning effective from 7 PM Sunday to 7 PM Monday. West winds are expected to range from 25 to 35 mph, with gusts reaching up to 65 mph.

These strong winds, combined with the weight of recent snow and ice on trees, may lead to downed branches and power lines, increasing the likelihood of power outages.

Real-time outages are available on National Grid's outage map

In anticipation of these conditions, Governor Kathy Hochul has issued an executive order, enabling the state to coordinate resources with local governments effectively. Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items, avoid unnecessary travel, and have emergency supplies readily available. If you experience a power outage, report it to National Grid.
